You now have an excellent way to motive your partner to get intimate. Sex does a body good.


Your probably asking yourself what can sex do for you beside pleasure? Research has proven that sex should be part of everyone's regular diet. ;)


Okay, so thats a major stretch, but having sex does have health benefits that many are not aware of such as reduction of breast cancer and prostate cancer. Not only does it reduce risks of cancer, it helps maintain a persons weight and also boosts their immune system.


Let's take a look at half a dozen other benefits that sex has to offer.


1. Calories be gone. Besides pleasure the best benefit from having sex is the exercise that it has to offer. According to Kathleen Doheny, writer for WebMD.com, 35 minutes of sex burns 85 calories. This might not sound like a lot, but 42 half-hour sessions burns 3,570 calories. Thats right guys, next time your partner doesn't want to have sex, be sure to her know that sex is a pleasurable exercise.


2. THE PAIN! Sex helps pain management. Why use pain killers when you could have sex. Another good reason to get your partner in bed. Sex could serve as pain reliever for migraines and menstrual cramps according to Dr. Yoonne K. Futbright, sex educator with FOXNews.com . Great reason to get intimate during that time of the month ladies. Sex also helps when you are having chronic back pains. Orgasms and sexual arousal help release endorphins which in tern helps decrease pain.


3. Your the MAN! Having sex sure helps boost many peoples self-esteem. "Great sex begins with self-esteem, and it raises it. If the sex is loving, connected, and what you want, it raises it," Sex therapist Gina Ogden said. Sex is used by people as a self-esteem booster; it make us feel good about ourselves.


4. More Sleep. According to Doheny, sex helps insomnia. Sexual activity helps release oxytocins, love hormon, during orgasm help promote sleep. Please do not be surprised if your partner falls asleep right after sex or perhaps during sex.


5. Longevity? This benefit might want to make all men jump into bed. There has been a connection made between orgasms and the decrease in the risk of death according to Futright. This is especially true for men. Statistically a man who climaxes once a month has a higher chance of mortality than a guy who climaxes twice a week. WOW guys grab your partner and get started on living longer.


6. A younger you. According to Fulbright, sex helps you feel younger. Not only does it help you feel young, it also helps you look young. she claimes research proves that having sex may lead to shiny hair, a glowing complexion and bright eyes; three very good important elements in appearance. This is only because dehydroepiandrostone, youth-promoting hormone, is increased during sexual activity.


You might want to email your partner this information just in case they didn't already know it. ;) Sex is an important part of your health and it might give you an excuse to get down and dirty tonight. If these benefits aren't enough to get you to jump into bed this second, well than just do it for the same reason everyone else does, the pleasure. The writer did a very nice job of taking a serious topic, well, sort of serious, and making it fit into her exercise rubric.

Nice beginning and a very clever ending. One of the better columns in this series.

The one suggestion would be to explain this paragraph:

"but having sex does have health benefits that many are not aware of such as reduction of breast cancer and prostate cancer."

Both are probably true, but should have been followed up on in the column to explain why sex helps...

It would give any male ammunition for arguments about whether to, um, Jazzercise?
